Meet Dr. Abram Hess

Dr. Abram Hess graduated from the IU School of Dentistry in 2016 with a DDS degree. Before going into dentistry, he spent five years as a chemist in pharmaceutical research and development. He made the leap from pharmaceuticals to dentistry to “get more interaction with the patients I’m helping.” Dr. Hess is passionate about treating each patient as an individual with unique health needs and challenges.

Dr. Abram Hess and his wife, Sara, have four daughters and one son. Their life is a chaos of princess dress-up, mud pies, and dump trucks! If one of the assistants looks a bit young when you visit the office (and isn’t allowed to do any actual work), it is probably one of his daughters visiting her daddy at work.

Along with his family, Dr. Abram Hess is very involved with his church. He has served as a deacon and is currently an elder and Sunday School teacher.

Meet Heather - Front Office Coordinator

Heather is usually the first face you will see at Dr. Hess Dentistry! As the front office coordinator, she is in charge of checking in patients and handling the financial side of your visit. Give her a call if you have any questions about insurance, payment plans, or scheduling.

“I have previous experience in dental insurance,” Heather says, “but I love that there’s so many ways I can help our patients at Dr. Hess Dentistry!” If you’re looking for personalized service with a smile, look no further.

Heather is a lifelong Indiana resident and proud Warren Central High School grad. When she’s not at the office, Heather enjoys painting, baking, and spending time with family.

Meet Kathy - Dental Hygienist

Kathy provides the most fundamental dental service: regular six-month cleanings so your smile stays bright and healthy! She has been a dental hygienist for over 24 years and joined our team in 2019. She graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

“Dental hygiene is rewarding for me because I like to educate and help everyone achieve good oral health,” Kathy says. “I look forward to building a relationship with all my current and future patients!”

Greenwood has been Kathy’s home for 17 years. She is happily married with two wonderful children. In her free time, she enjoys vacationing, reading, and movies.

Meet McKenzie - Front Office Assistant & EFDA

You’ll find McKenzie assisting Dr. Hess in making your visit as comfortable and productive as possible in her role as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). Whether she’s rescheduling your appointment or assisting in a procedure, McKenzie’s goal is to make sure you have an enjoyable and relaxed visit to our office.

McKenzie started her career after she graduated from Franklin Dental Assisting School in 2019. Her mom, who works in a dentist’s front office, played a big part in McKenzie’s career choice. McKenzie was always her mom’s helping hand on school holidays and has seen the dental field from the inside, starting at a young age.

On days out of the office, McKenzie enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, enjoying nature, and playing with her pups. She hopes to inspire anyone who is interested in a dental career to pursue their dreams.

“I plan to further my career and make the dental field my lifetime home,” McKenzie says. “I am inspired to give our patients comforting care!”

Meet Dianna - EFDA

From the moment you arrive in our office to when you’re checking out, Dianna’s goal is to make sure you feel at home at Dr. Hess Dentistry. As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, she assists Dr. Hess on both routine and more complicated procedures. Behind the scenes, she’s busy making sure our rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you might need during your visit.

Dianna is originally from California and has been a military spouse for 15 years. She trained as a dental assistant at Fort Riley DENTAC in Kansas, and each of her two children was born on a different military installation. Her family has two German shepherds and a cat.

“My favorite part of working at Dr. Hess Dentistry is meeting new patients in our community!” says Dianna. Maybe you’ll be next!
